Tony and Family- I was so, so sad to hear about your mom passing yesterday. I called yesterday around 4:00 pm - just to check in on her and heard about her condition (I wasn't expecting to hear that) and that you had just arrived. My mom lived across the street (Lisa) when your parents first moved to 56th Street and Betty was one of my mom's closest and dearest friends. Both of your parents doted on my own girls while they were growing up- whenever they were in Savannah visiting during the summers. When mom had to move from Savannah in 2004, she said one of the hardest parts was 'leaving Betty'. They called each other weekly to chat over the next 9 years and your mom even came up to Gainesville to attend my oldest daughter's graduation from high school. Betty sent my mom regular cards, packages with treats and newspaper clippings during those 9 years, too... and I remember how hard it was to call and tell her back in 2013 that mom had passed away. I can't begin to tell you how special your mom was to all of us and how much we loved her. I'm glad I was able to see her one more time over the summer, when I was in Savannah for a visit. I know that Jimmy and Mom were there to greet her yesterday evening and no doubt they have an eternity to catch up on the missing years. She will be so greatly missed... Love to all of you! - Susan
